Getting started begins before your puppy comes home. Follow the steps below and you’ll be on the fast track to potty training success.

1. Get ready
Before your puppy arrives, create a training space near your primary living space, like the family room or kitchen. This will be a confined area with a bed, food and water, and BrilliantPad.

2. Welcome home
We know it’s tempting to play with your puppy and let them roam free at first. Instead, immediately put your puppy on BrilliantPad in their training area to get them off on the right foot.
3. Create a daily routine
Training your pup to use BrilliantPad takes a few minutes at a time, a few times a day. Put your puppy directly on BrilliantPad at these times:
- When your pup wakes up and before sleep
- 10-15 minutes after eating
- After playing
- Anytime your dog is pacing, circling, or sniffing
