The cord needs to have a protector or something on top of it (even if it was an "optional add-on" so prevent small puppies from chewing on the cord. We have a small yorkie. She weighs less than 4 pounds and she is able to scoot the entire brilliant pad over and squeeze into the back of the unit to chew on the cord (which is otherwise hidden from view). Also, I would recommend the designers add a small "lip" or frame to the edges of the puppy pad rolls because playful pups who wake up before their owners or are left alone for an hour too long find great fun in lifting up the puppy pad that is on the brilliant pad and they shred it, carry it away resulting in a decent amount of wasted roll. Again, I would be willing to pay extra for something like that as an optional add-on to prevent the frustration of cleaning up a million pieces of puppy pad and wasted roll.
